Peer parliament 1 – How we move and get around Bolivia

May 31, 2022

Considering that Europe is a leading actor in the fight against climate change, the European Climate Pact is an opportunity for people, communities, and organizations to participate in climate action.

Our first Peer Parliament shared information, debate, and act on the climate crisis with the Youth Network of Circular Economy – RED JEC in Bolivia and learn views from emerging economies.

Our first Peer Parliament focused on mobility. We discussed how we move and get around for short journeys – whether that’s dashing to the shops, meeting a friend or picking up your children from school – and how we could be convinced to use public transport or other environmentally friendly options. One of the highlights of the debate was that now is the best moment to take action. For this transition to succeed, it requires an all-inclusive and multi-sectoral approach at the EU and national levels while coordinating decisions and actions with the international community, especially the emerging economies.
