European Circular Electronics Kickstart Acceleration Program

April 4, 2026

The European Circular Electronics Kickstart (ECEK) Acceleration Program is an external acceleration opportunity for startups working in circular electronics and semiconductors at TRL 4 to 8. The program is free of charge and equity free, runs online from May to November 2026, and ends with a Demo Day in Malta in November 2026. Applications close May 09, 2026.

Why this matters for circular economy innovation

Electronics and semiconductors sit at the center of resource use, critical materials, and fast product cycles. Startups pushing circular approaches often face similar barriers: limited access to pilot environments, slow routes to public funding, and long sales cycles that delay scale.

This program is designed to support practical progress, with pilots, business development support, and investor readiness activities built into one structured pathway.

What the program offers

The program includes tailored one-to-one coaching, customised advisory and mentoring aligned with specific needs and stage.

It supports startups in exploring public funding opportunities relevant to research, development, and growth.

Minimum Viable Products can be piloted within a European partner network to validate solutions in real settings.

Business development support includes expanding target markets, developing new channels, and reaching international markets.

The program supports investor readiness through proposition refinement and pitch deck improvement, plus opportunities for one-to-one pitching and exposure to investors, including at Demo Day.

Workshops cover IP and commercialisation, fundraising strategies, public funding, and circularity topics such as product design, strategic partnerships, and revenue models.

Participants gain access to an international stakeholder network across corporates, public sector, SMEs, and academia to explore collaborations and joint projects.

The program concludes with a Demo Day in Malta in November 2026.

Startups become part of a Circular Kickstart community. Some activities such as investor negotiations, public funding applications, and MVP pilots may continue beyond program completion.

Timeline

The program runs from May to November 2026 and is delivered online.

Demo Day takes place in Malta in November 2026.

Focus areas

The program targets circularity in electronics and semiconductors, including recycling, recovery, remanufacturing, and integration of secondary raw materials, along with efforts to strengthen circularity across the electronics value chain.

Eligibility snapshot

Startups should be operating at TRL 4 to 8 and working in circular electronics and semiconductors.

Eligible startups are incorporated from 2019 onwards.

Startups worldwide may apply. If selected and registered outside Europe, there is a commitment to incorporate in a European country within 6 months of onboarding.

Who should consider it

This opportunity is relevant for startups building circular solutions in electronics or semiconductors that want structured support to validate and scale. It may also be a fit if your next bottleneck is pilots, market access, fundraising readiness, or partnerships.
